In a recent rant in one of my blog entries, I went on and on about service or lack of at some fast food places. Recently, I have been proved wrong.
The other day while speaking on my cell at the window I handed the fellow my charge card. He waved his hand ever so gently. I thought he was pointing to the sign on the window that says... "Please do not use cellphones in drive through." But instead, he handed me my drink and food and said..."no charge." He asked if I would call the 800 number and leave my comments. Will I call? I'll put the person I'm talkin to on hold and do it right now.
Now, that's what I'm talkin about! Not only did I get lightning speed service; I got it with a big smile and free food and drink! That selfless act made my day.
I happily called the number and even left a voice message saying how impressed I was by their employees. ( I'll be getting all kinds of coupons in the mail)
At another fast food location on a planet somewhat like our own, I ordered a large diet Pepsi. ( I love.... me some diet Pepsi from Taco Bell) And what I hear and see astounds me, the employee starts handing me one of those 'dripping' cups of soda that I detest so. As I reached out the window to grab the cup, she quickly pulled the cup back through the window then uttered these beautiful words... "I'm sorry... let me wipe your cup with a napkin." I smiled and thanked her for being so considerate.
Again, these events occurred on a planet somewhat like our own. I just hope I can remember my way back to it.
